| These past few days away from home has been a gift. As much as home is sweet, being away was refreshing. To actually wake up together to smell each other's bad breath; To be able to have breakfast together and even spend time in the word at the start of the day was beyond nice... like I said, a gift.
We started off Monday morning, around 5ish. After passing the morning traffic of LA (i slept through that part ) we rested in Valencia, with some breakfast at McD's.
SF was busy but beautiful. It was such a unique feeling, driving on a bridge, seeing water surround you, and smelling / feeling the fresh air. Driving on unfamiliar territory was challenging, especially with all the ONE WAY streets but we did get to eat some good food that only SF can provide... clam chowder @ the bay, ice cream @ sausaliot, top dog @ Berkeley, Ghiradelli sundae, etc...

Walking on the Golden Gate Bridge...

| Haven't updated in awhile. I missed Xanga... With all the facebook hype, I think I was a little distracted but I want recommit to xanga again.
Last week Scott was gone for NIKO. His passion for NIKO was rekindled as he made his visit to his favorite store, REI. That man can stay in that store for over 2 hours. That's me, visiting all my necessary stores, at the mall within the same amount of time.
As any other NIKO, Scott came back with his routine raccoon eye tan, and peeling scalp from the sun burn. What's it with men and NOT wearing sun block? I only have 2 words for you- SKIN CANCER!
It's finally APRIL. As much as I'm gonna enjoy this 1 week of spring break, it's going to be "crunch time" right after. I have to get through all my curriculum (as much as possible) before state testing begins. It's only a test right? pshh... tell that to the CA government, Bush and the Districts (do I sound bitter?)
So do we make our home in the O.C. or the 626?
that has been the question of the month...
the OC will always feel like home. I just love it here- everything you need is accessible. Korean food, Korean market, pat-bing-soo, korean bread, etc... but home seems like such a relative term now. It's more than familiarity. Eventually you'll become familiar with any place. It's more security & peace- and I'm learning, that comes more with relationships than places.
Here's a video clip of my neice... just makes me smile... (I've become one of those aunties)
SF HERE WE COME! Even though it'll be a short trip, I'm really excited to get away, and enjoy a new surrounding. Thanks to our SF buddies (HJ and LN), we have a full itinerary of things to see, do, and EAT! Yummmm
Hopefully we wont be too lazy to take pictures. this is gonna be "HELLA/HECKA" fun!

| Finally, a saturday with nothing "planned" but FRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! Took my good ole time working out, came home to find the laundry room also, FREEEEEEE, so I jumped at the opportunity to get our dirty clothes cleaned. Can I sound any more "Ahjumah"?
Almost every year, I have at least 1 student who gets caught cheating. and I hate the fact that I have to follow up with a serious consequence because I know its not an easy thing to swallow for a middle school kid. I wish they didnt cheat- it makes me so sad; and then I hate watching them go through the pain of dealing with the consequence
When the student has paid his/her consequence, I MAKE SURE I follow up with, "Now, lets learn from this and have a fresh start. The past is the past- lets learn and grow from it. I wont hold that against you. You've paid the consequence for it" That speech always makes them walk out the door with a half sad/half relieved face. But the next day, you treat them the same as usual, and the bright smile they give you makes it all up.
i dont know if'm making sense- but i think that was the best part of this week- seeing my students face light up when she EXPERIENCED grace.
Off to AZ tomorrow. My family hasn't gathered as ONE since the day of my wedding. FINALLY, we will get to have at least 1 meal together. PICTURES TO COME... so many weddings!
| "Ba tu... Hazold Dafa"
We watched the Kite runner and it was wonderful! Of course its not as great as the book, but it really hit home for Scott & I...

| We're already moving into 2 digit numbers in december. Time has been going way to fast and life seems to be passing by so fast. This weekend was another weekend filled with many things on the "to do" list but by the grace of God, it was also filled with DIVINE check points that brought me back to what mattered most- HIM.
From Friday night practice with our kids at church, saturday morning missions prayer meeting, v's baby shower for Ruth, Teacher's appreciation dinner, Sunday worship with GREAT ministry and My neice, Lauren's Baptism service... my body is pooped out! But Still... our God's goodness prevails and I can confidently and genuinely say, "Thank you Lord" for this weekend.
I'm thankful for my mom, who stayed with me for a few days while hubs was away, to keep me company and support me with her prayers. I'm thankful for the GREAT ministry Staff who are so faithful in showing up, to serve and pray together. I dont think they know it, but they make me smile.
Lastly, my neice... she seriously is one baby that makes me so HAPPY. Just seeing her makes me so happy inside. Definately excited to go see her again in Christmas. Christmas in Arizona... what's that like huh?
Another week is ahead of us... my mind is desperate for lesson plans. I'm so tired of talking in front of my class. It's time for some LABS! I'm tired. The kids are tired. It's definately time for a vacation...
so the count down begins: 10 more working days until Christmas break. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
